So my partner was Victoria Colaruotolo. The only thing I knew about her before the project was that she is a sports fanatic 100%. After a week of communication, I know a lot more about her, she likes 100 grand bars and loves funfetti cake just like me. Using Padlet was really fun. It is essentially a blank canvas that is 100% customizable. I could see this as more of a fun project, and not so much an ideal way of communicating. However, making them definitely creates some sort of connection with another person. I can't think of any new ways of communicating during a pandemic besides the ones that already exist.

Instagram and Discord are great. Instagram was my method of communication and worked well. Direct messages are the core of Instagram, and well, it worked fine. I didn't use discord, but other students used it to find partners, so it is absolutely another method of communicating during a pandemic. Once again, Padlet was great. It was straightforward to use, and you can use any image as the background image. Everything is adjustable, and I hope more teachers incorporate this for students to use. I would say this is probably the best option for breaking the ice between students. Instagram exists, but conversations can become dry rather quickly.

If Padlet were to be used professionally, it would still work. The themes can be adjusted to appear as a PowerPoint, and the many outlines also help creators understand what their final project will look like. Canvases can also be “remade” into a different format, so you don't have to start from scratch if you don't love the format you began with. In general, Padlet can be fun and professional.
